IDM 13TH JOINT GRADUATION

The Institute of Development Management (IDM) is hosting its 13th Joint Graduation Ceremony in Maseru, Lesotho on the 29th November 2019. The event, which will be held at ‘Manthabisen International Convention Centre will be graced by dignitaries from national governments of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini as affirmation to the tripartite agreement between the three countries.

IDM is also celebrating its 45 years of existence as a product of a common vision by the founding fathers of the three nations, Sir Seretse Khama of Botswana, King Moshoeshoe I of Lesotho and King Sobhuza II of Eswatini. The Institute has gained enormous growth and resilience, asserting itself as a relevant player in the era of digital advancement and the 4th Industrial Revolution.

A statement from IDM Regional Office reads in part: “Our human resource needs in the region have changed tremendously at an accelerated pace. Today’s industry requires a more versatile graduate, one who excels in a world of increased automation. We are at the heart of matching these needs of the present and the future.”

Dr Onalenna Seitio-Kgokgwe, IDM Botswana Country Director says IDM continues to make invaluable contribution towards the provision of human resource capital in Botswana.

“We pride ourselves in taking the lead in professional development training through our Centre for Continued Professional Development school, which offers an array of short-term solutions on various disciplines to promote productivity in the public and private sector.”

She revealed that the Institute has grown phenomenally, responding to the needs of Batswana as a whole, adding that they offer long programs from Certificates, Diploma, Degrees up to Masters level.

Dr Seitio-Kgokgwe also revealed that in their quest to support Botswana’s national agenda IDM supports the enhancement of talent within its employee population, citing a number of their own employees who are being supported to acquire PhD qualifications.

She further highlighted IDM’s commitment to changing lives of communities across the country as evidenced by a number of initiatives and partnerships they have forged at grassroots level on various areas including education, health and wellness, youth empowerment, and community development.
