Botswana Boxing Association (BOBA) is this afternoon hosting it’s drug and substance abuse awereness tournament in Jwaneng at Debswana hall. With about 17 teams set to participate, the event promises to be one of the best events of year.
According to BOBA President Dirang Thipe, the tournament is a celebration of boxing in Botswana, featuring matches between top boxers from across the country. He said as a nation, they are facing significant challenges related to substance abuse, particularly among youth. “As a boxing association, we believe that sports can play a powerful role in promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing substance abuse. By associating our tournament with this theme, we hope to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and promote positive role models for our young people,” he said.
BOBA is expecting multitudes of Boxers to attend the event after a long inactive phase this year.
