“BU’s multi-faceted campaign should further assist the University to build a strong brand which is already gaining recognition in Nigeria, as well as increasing enrollment figures from a wide target audience in the country,” pointed out Golekanye Setume, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor- Communications.

The campaign consists of a number of components, namely, Social Media and Blog Exposure, PR, Print Advertising, and Radio Commercials and Outdoor Advertising, as well as a Press Conference to be held at a scheduled date in Nigeria.

The first PR generation and Print Advertising placement began in April, 2019 and these strategies resulted in a cross sectional growth of the target market. Airing of Radio Commercials began the first week of July 2019, run by selected stations in cities like Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu, where the human traffic is very high. The Outdoor Advertising phase will be targeted soon in the next phase soon.

“Since Botho University unveiled its Nigerian marketing campaign early in April, it’s encouraging to see how the distance learning brand is gradually carving a name for itself throughout the country. We are quite confident that our various messages will be heard to persuade those seeking world class education to enroll with us.” Golekanye Setume, DPVC-Communications, concluded.

Botho University is also consolidating its distance learning brand in Namibia, Lesotho and Eswatini, where it already has physical campuses.

Botho University programme offerings complement international quality distance learning experiences with programmes distinguished by input from corresponding industries, ensuring graduates are well equipped with the proven know-how in readiness for the job hunting or entrepreneurial space. Botho University offers in excess of 200 short-term professional development programmes that can be customized to meet the client’s requirements. While the university’s vibrant and diverse student component come from southern African countries such as South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, the brand’s recognition by others beyond this region, in further countries like Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania, have been notable.
