Former Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) parliamentary candidate for Gaborone Central Thabo Autlwetse has retraced his steps back to Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).
Autlwetse joined BMD after he was slapped with 2 year suspension by former BDP President Ian Khama in 2017 for misconduct and bringing the party into disrepute.
In an interview with this publication, Autlwetse confirmed that he has received the re-admission letter from Tsholetsa House.
BDP Executive Secretary Ame Makoba confirmed that Autlwetse has been readmitted into the party and the branch where he comes from has been notified.
He is the former BDP National Youth Executive Committee Secretary General before being suspended by Khama.
Autlwetse and eight other NYEC members were suspended after they suspended the NYEC chairperson Simon Mavange and replaced him with Autlwetse. They accused Mavange of being in breach of the party rules and regulations.
