Branch Eyes Second World Title in Dakar Rally Quest

Premier league log leaders, Township Rollers will face struggling Gilport Lions, in what could be an easy passage to the last eight, when they meet in the Orange FA Cup last 16 which will be played starting Friday (March 25).

Rollers, which has been excluded from another local Cup is expected to embark on a warpath against the bottom of the log Lions.

The unique Orange FA Cup draw this week drew 48 local football teams into the last 16 to participate in a knock out tournament where lower division teams are offered an opportunity to battle it out with teams from the country’s top flight league.

The FA Cup is one of a kind in the local football landscape which pits teams against each other regardless of status, popularity or experience.The nomadic nature of it is such that it is such that it which takes football to the far reaches of the country into the small villages as far as Moshupa, Tsabong, Letlhakane among others. 

This year’s installment will be worth a whopping P700 000. It will be offering an exciting football spectacle particularly as the COVID-19 Pandemic is slowing down and a semblance of normalcy kicks in.The last 8 fixtures are as follows;

Prisons XI vs Matebele; Orapa United vs Holy Ghost; Miscellaneous vs Police XI; Eleven Angels vs Bobonong Peace Makers; Security Systems vs Mochudi Center Chiefs; Black Forest vs Morupule ; Nico United vs MR Highlanders; Mogoditshane Fighters/Skoon Boys vs Jwaneng Galaxy; Chadibe FC vs Calendar Stars; BDF XI vs Molepolole City Stars; Gaborone United vs Motaung Young Fighters/Lokgwabe; Tsa Botlhe FC vs Sua Flamingoes; Gilport Lions vs Township Rollers; Kgabo-Setso vs Extension Gunners Tlokweng Red Sparks vs BIUST All Stars Notwane FC vs TAFIC Sc
