Major Moves Comedy is back with yet another rib cracking lineup for their monthly standup comedy events this September. The amusing and funny lineup will feature top local comedians and multi-award winning comedian from South Africa. The event will also bring upcoming comedians to the forefront as new comedians will be introduced and given a chance to share stage with established acts.

The stellar lineup that has resident host Onkgopotse ‘Mdala Ka Tjeludo’ Mugende will be headlined by two-time South African Comics Choice winner Siya Seya and feature humorous comedy from Thapelo Malani and surprise guests. In a career spanning over 13 years Siya Seya has brought his fans over 5 One Man Shows. The South African comedy genius will for the first time be bringing his edgy, witty and hilarious storytelling abilities to Gaborone in a comedy special dubbed traveling man. The South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA) nominated comedian is also an actor and writer with a knack for telling hilarious stories that address day to day issues. Siya Seya has been featured on Comedy Central Africa, BBC Radio 4, and has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Siya has grown from strength to strength, performing at huge events like Comedy Under The Sun by Mashabela Galane, Blacks Only by David Kau and Johannesburg International Comedy Festival.

Thapelo Malani who is a visually impaired comedian will be in his element showing his prowess as he has previously headlined a show in Lusaka, Zambia, performed in Lesotho and Eswatini and also toured South Africa. Siya Seya hosted Malani at Hardrock Café at the world-famous Mandela Square at Sandton City mall and the two will be rekindling their comedy friendship in Thapelo’s home country. Malani’s jokes are all about his life as person living with disability and the life experiences especially on his travels. After 7 years in the funny business, the secret to his success is his refreshingly different comedy style.

The venue sponsor is Staybridge Hotel which is in the heart of the city just after the UB circle. “We have had tremendous support for our August show from both the public and the media alike. We promise a truly enjoyable, relaxing and funny event with this production. We have a fresh new lineup, fresh new headliners and people must come and experience the best and ultimate entertainment from beginning to the end,” says events coordinator Mr Gaolathe Kediemetse. Tickets for the comedy night are available at Webtickets & Spar outlets priced from P150 single and P200 double. The show starts at 8pm.
