Government and Batlokwa are stepping up surveillance in the Tlokweng cattle farming zones to abate threat of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in neighboring South Africa where it is threatening to spiral out of control.

 

South Africa is grappling with a FMD scourge in the farming zones bordering Botswana including Tlokweng village.On Friday, the Ministry of Lands and Agriculture and the village leadership held a consultative review of the Agricultural Policy at the main kgotla in a meeting with Batlokwa farmers.
