Minority opposition-Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) was caught up on a misinformation tirade in their full spirited campaign to discredit President Duma Boko’s constitutional court amendment bill proposal ahead of a constitutional review.

The BDP came up with gun blazing alleging that Boko’s administration was pursuing the constitutional amendment bill to pave the way for same sex relationships and same sex marriages. The party was caught between a rock and hard place after human rights groups accused them of whipping up public hysteria against the Lesbian Gays Bisexual Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) community to attract public sympathy.
