Local theatre production house Dramatic Scholars, has been on an international festival tour with Dikgang Tsa Bagolo: NgwanaMme (a production) on the 12th November, becoming the first ever team from Botswana to perform at the Kenyan International Theatre Festival's [KITFEST 2025] 10th anniversary. This came after debuting at the National Arts Festival Fringe in South Africa.

The production known for its powerful immersive retelling of the 1985 Gaborone Raids and the assassination of Abram Onkgopotse Tiro, has now attracted interest to major international festivals in 2026, including Egypt and Italy. As shared by Boikhutso Phenyo Molefhi, the creative director at Dramatic Scholars, the team is already in pre-production for their next major global project, which is the Dikgang TsaMerafe series that will mark another milestone in Botswana’s cultural storytelling.
