Minister of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, KetlhalefileMotshegwa, has confirmed that he will address Bakgatla-ba-ga-Kgafela next week Thursday to brief them on the latest developments regarding his engagement with their paramount chief, Kgosi Kgolo Kgafela II.

Speaking to The Patriot on Sunday, Motshegwa said the upcoming kgotla meeting follows his recent reconciliation mission to Cape Town. “I travelled to Cape Town with Kgafela’s uncles to meet him on behalf of government as part of a reconciliation effort with the chief and, by extension, with Bakgatla. The UDC government respects traditional leaders and believes that issues of national concern must be resolved through dialogue. Kgafela appreciated our approach,” he said.
