- Accuses UDC of breaching social contract, mishandling economy and centralizing power

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) President and Leader of the Opposition Dumelang Saleshando has launched a blistering attack on the ruling coalition Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) government, accusing them of failing to deliver on their manifesto promises and breaching the social contract they signed with Batswana one year ago.
Saleshando described the UDC’s election manifesto as a binding agreement with citizens, one that promised jobs, social welfare, and sound governance. “When a government signs a social contract and fails to deliver, that is corruption, that is a scam against the people,” he said, citing commitments that remain unmet.
