BEIJING, CHINA - Botswana Parliament delegation last week concluded a four weeks seminar on Transformation of Railway Systems in Botswana held in China. The seminar was sponsored by China Ministry of Commerce and Botswana delegation comprised MPs, Members of Ntlo ya Dikgosi and Parliament staff.

In an interview, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport, Works and Communications, Motlhaleemang Moalosi said the seminar was an eye opener for Botswana. He said the seminar presents significant opportunities for Botswana to transition its railway infrastructure from its current infancy stage to a world-class integrated transportation system.He said the partnershipand investment the most immediate opportunity is leveraging the 30 bilateral agreements already in place between our nations.
