Tafic suspend three players

Trouble seems to  be  looming  at Tafic Sporting Club  after   it  emerged    that  the club  has    suspended  three  of their  senior   players   this  week. The   trio is –Rocky Nkwe, Buyani Kgomotso and Captain Uyapo Tibathuwe –who received their   suspension letters on Wednesday evening. However, the number is likely   to increase to six if news from sources close to the developments is anything to go with.

Though other two names are still withheld some high profile names keeps on cropping in relation to the suspension. According toΒ Β a letterΒ Β whichΒ Β thisΒ Β publicationΒ Β isΒ Β in possessionΒ Β of TibathuweΒ Β has been suspended from work until furtherΒ Β noticeΒ Β pendingΒ Β Β investigationsΒ Β whichΒ Β theΒ Β club saysΒ Β theyΒ Β areΒ Β embarkingΒ Β on . DueΒ Β Β to the suspension the captain is further barred from attendingΒ Β Β the training sessions of the club.

β€œTo be honest  I don’t  know  exactly what I have  done  wrong because  nobody  has  ever called  me for  a hearing   or  complained about anything or any  bad behaviour. I was just handed the letter on  Wednesday  evening  after  training so I’m just left  with  assumptions,” said Tibathuwe narrating the   ordeal .When  quizzed  if  he is going to appeal  the  suspension Tibathuwe  said  he  is not  going  to  do  that because  he already feels  unwanted  at  the team.

β€œNoΒ Β I’m not going to appeal, clearlyΒ Β I’m notΒ Β wantedΒ Β at the club .WhatΒ Β I just wantΒ Β is for themΒ Β to pay meΒ Β all myΒ Β duesΒ Β thenΒ Β I will seeΒ Β whatΒ Β to do. If thisΒ Β was justΒ Β a suspension I couldn’tΒ Β haveΒ Β Β beenΒ Β Β toldΒ Β to return theΒ Β training kit so I thinkΒ Β theyΒ Β haveΒ Β a planΒ Β and I’m beingΒ Β pushedΒ Β out,” he said.

Of late   trouble  has  been    brewing  at the  Francistown   based   club ranging  from  unpaid   player  salaries and   players boycotting  training  sessions   in  cry   of  poor   welfare. Late  last  year a group  of  Tafic  players   came   together  and  penned a letter to  the  management     complaining  of their   poor  welfare  and unpaid salaries. Ever since then things have never been   the same for Machimenyenga.

β€œThings changed last time when as players we wrote a letter to the management complaining. After thatΒ Β I neverΒ Β played even a single game, evenΒ Β duringΒ Β trainingΒ Β I was leftΒ Β out orΒ Β used in an off position butΒ Β Β without any communication asΒ Β ifΒ Β everythingΒ Β was fine. That’sΒ Β Β whenΒ Β I realizedΒ Β thatΒ Β thereΒ Β was anΒ Β issue aboutΒ Β Β us players who wereΒ Β instrumentalΒ Β inΒ Β writing the complaint letter. The managementΒ Β Β calledΒ Β few playersΒ Β and asked themΒ Β about the letter and myΒ Β assumption is that thoseΒ Β playersΒ Β revealedΒ Β ourΒ Β names and sharedΒ Β that we were theΒ Β mastermindsΒ Β behindΒ Β theΒ Β letter,” saidΒ Β theΒ Β 33year old.

When reached for comment Tafic spokesperson Benjamin Raletsatsi confirmed   the suspensions but was not willing   to divulge more details   to the issue.

β€œWe have three players being Rocky Nkwe, Tibathuwe and Buyani Kgomotso who are suspendedΒ Β Β pending disciplinaryΒ Β Β hearing. I can’tΒ Β discussΒ Β the issueΒ Β Β furtherΒ Β becauseΒ Β It is a matterΒ Β ofΒ Β employee andΒ Β employer relations ,”heΒ Β said.

According toΒ Β Β Raletsatsi,Β Β theyΒ Β have furtherΒ Β terminatedΒ Β the contractΒ Β of previous coachΒ Β Saul ChaminukaΒ Β becauseΒ Β they were not happy with hisΒ Β performanceΒ Β andΒ Β have ropedΒ Β Β in StanleyΒ Β MwaangaΒ Β whoΒ Β signed aΒ Β three yearΒ Β contract.

In  other  news  Forster Machola  has also  resigned from   his position  in the  club as  secretary   general  to  focus  on  his  businesses.
