When I was recently invited by some of those that I attended Kopano Primary School with back in the late 70’s for an Almuni driven event to celebrate 50 years of the life of the school, I was so excited, a flash back of all the fond memories of my youth swarmed my
mind. Kopano Primary School is an English Medium Primary School in Selibe Phikwe that has
been in existence since 1972. One can not help but observe that 1972 was when Apartheid in South Africa was at its peak and its spill over effects into Southern African Countries like Botswana was also at its peak. Most of the white people who set up English Medium Schools such as Kopano Primary School were white racists and they accompanied themselves with local Batswana (historically known as natives) to ratify and validate their white supremacists’ educational system and culture, which they had a free ticket to impose post colonialism, neo colonialism.
