Nkange MP,Motlhaleemang Moalosi has criticized theTribal Territories Actas an outdated colonial law that entrenches inequality among Botswana’s tribes, and promised to bring a motion to Parliament calling for its repeal.
These developments come in the wake of a heated argument between him and the Gammangwato Tribal Administration and Paramount Chief Ian Khama IV.The controversy was sparked by a savingram from the Bamangwato Tribal Administration announcing constituency tournaments and naming Moalosi’s parliamentary office as one of the registration points. The MP reacted furiously, saying his office had not been consulted and accusing the administration of undermining Tutume’s autonomy.
