The Paramount Chief of Bakwena kgosi Kgari Sechele III expressed grave concern over the escalating cases of Gender based violence in kweneng especially in Molepolole. He echoed these sentiments today when addressing the media with other village authorities. He indicated that owing to the Covid19 pandemic it is not easy to call a kgotla meeting to talk about these disturbing issues. “As leadership in kweneng we are worried about GBV especially in molepolole due to rise in Killings. Threat to kill. Defilement and unlawful wounding, some of these cases have been tried while others are yet to be brought before court” he said. “Re le morafe re a babalelwa kajalo are seka ra tsholola dikgang re re tla kgalema bana mo malapeng, Makgotla a ikemetseng ka nosi, a sedumedi le a puso a supile kgatlhego ya go thusa go lwantsha bothata jo, dirukutlhi le babolai ke bana ba rona. A kgalemo e nne teng. Re tshwentswe ke dipolao tse di sa tswang go diragala.

Mo golole fa a sa batle” kgosi Kgari Sechele advised. We have divorcees, parents who acquired assets but later divorced and lost everything. Let’s look at them and learn. Bana ba rona ba seka ba letswa ke gore o kile a reka cell phone or chicken licken.Puso a e re thuse, re na le palo e ntsi ya batho. We need more police stations” he said. Kgosi also called upon the government to assist molepolole and mogoditshane police stations with enough cars, dogs, cameras on roads to combat these social ills. “On Covid 19,gare sale morago dikgakololo tsa bongaka,ko dintshong le dipatlo gare diragatse melawana, dipalo tsa rona ko dintshong di feta seelo. A re kope bana go dira live feeds ko dintshong or patlo go fokotsa dipalo” Regarding the issue of cohabitation Kgosi explained as follows; ” Kana tota re le bogosi re dira le morafe. Ga se Karolo ya ngwao mme ga re e rotloetse Fa e le gore u were cohabiting and you didn’t get help when u asked for help in various kgotla.
