After years of exploring different investment destinations across the continent, international investment consortium Zotus Group has chosen Botswana as the home of its ambitious new project, the Kgalagadi Smart City, also referred to as Zota City. The project, set to rise in the vast plains of the Ghanzi District, is envisioned as a state-of-the-art, green, and inclusive urban centre that will serve as Africa’s next hub for innovation, trade, and sustainable development.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday following the 2025 Pula Global Expo, Zotus Group co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Davidson Simango explained that Botswana’s stability, transparency, and forward-thinking leadership made it the perfect environment for such a transformative project. He described the decision to invest in Botswana as both a business and moral choice, saying it aligned with President Duma Boko ongoing call for economic diversification and industrialisation beyond diamonds.
