PURPOSE

The Development & Technical Manager is responsible for promoting the sport through planning and executing a development and technical plan, incorporating World Rugby and Rugby Africa training and metrics under the direction and leadership of the Union Executive Board.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be World Rugby Educator Coach/Match Official
  • Must be World Rug by Level 2 Coachor Referee(7s or 15s)
  • Diploma/Degree in Sports Management or related

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE ANDPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS.

 

  • Minimum of    5    years’experience   in   rugby developmentandcoaching
  • Ability to manage the work of the rugby union in a proactiveandefficientmanner
  • Highlyorganizedwithexcellentattentiontodetail
  • Excellentcommunicationskills
  • Self-motivatedandabletoworkindependently
  • Excellentteamplayer
  • ExperiencewithMicrosoftOfficeandotherIT platforms
  • EvidenceofCPDinsupportingtechnicaland administrative areas will be an added

advantage

  • FirstAidand/orothersupportingplayerwelfare trainings will be an added advantage
  • Previousteamand/ortournamentmanagement experience will be an added advantage

 

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

  • DrivingofUnionStrategicPlan
  • PrepareWorldRugbyandRugbyAfricaTechnical Reports
  • ProvidereportstobesubmittedtotheDevelopment InvestmentPortals

 

  • Prepare,submitandassistintheexecutionofa UnionActivity Plan and manage the annual calendar ofrugbydevelopmenteventsforBRU
  • DeliverWorldRugbycoursesinconjunctionwith theHeadofEducationandTraining
  • Conduct Get Into Rugby (GIR) andT1 Rugby training programmes for low age grade children.
  • Liaisewithallstakeholders,egBOTESSA,BISA, BOPSSA, BNSC, BNOC on technical matters
  • Provide technical and logistical support to all nationalteamstructuresandprovidelogistical andcoordinationsupportforallBRUeventsand
  • Serve as a liaison between Botswana Rugby UnionandRugbyAfricaandWorldRugbyinkey development programmes and serve as theBRU contact for visiting international technical experts.
  • Developandimplementthesportingactivities infulfilmentofrequirementsbyWorldvRugby, Rugby Africa, BNSC, BNOC and other associated
  • Advice the Head of technical on the technical matters
  • Oversee establishment and operation of technical sub structures across regions to implementthe BRU agenda
  • Conduct risk assessment, analysis and mitigation measuresacrossalltechnicalsubstructures
  • Participateinnationalteamcoaches’recruitment
  • AssisttheSecretariatinallreportstobepresented at the OGM and AGM and attend all OGMand AGM meetings
  • Maintainofficialdatabasesandfilingsystemsfor
