Highly charged public addresses by President Duma Boko, in particular his incoherent rants about and against those who raise divergent views to some of his decisions at Government Enclave, depicts a man – a Head of Statereeling under pressure and performing horribly under such circumstances.

And the observation is gaining momentum among the general populace.

On Thursday night, Boko used the podium meant to celebrate 2025 World Relay stars to attack economic statistics presented by Business Botswana (BB) criticising the abrupt declaration of the 29th September 2025 a paid public holiday.BB – the voice of the private sector –, estimated that Botswana’s economy lost approximately P585 million due to an abrupt holiday declared by Boko to honour athletes who won medals, including two gold at the World Relays Championship in Tokyo, Japan recently.
