Takes a swipe at Khama for poor leadership

Long after former president Ian Khama declared war on vice president Slumber Tsogwane, even promising to decampaign him ahead of October general elections, the latter finally mustered enough courage to retaliate last weekend.

In guarded language that steered clear of dropping names, Tsogwane took a swipe at Khama during the launch of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary candidate for Mochudi East Mabuse Pule in Mathubudukwane. The scathing attack comes months after Khama vowed to ensure that Tsogwane loses the parliamentary elections. Khama has since endorsed Tsogwane’s opponent, Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) candidate Sam Digwa. Tsogwane said Botswana is now receiving many visits from other Heads of State while current President Mokgweetsi Masisi is frequently invited to visit their countries. “This is because we have a president who is opening up the country for investors by luring them to come here not one who would just sit here and only go out of the country when attending conservation meetings,” he hit out.
