On the 1st of November 2020, Botswana Life Insurance Limited (Botswana Life) celebrated their 45th Anniversary. This is quite the milestone considering just how far BLIL has come since they sold their first life insurance policy in 1977. They have since been at the forefront of building wealth and driving socio-economic progress in Botswana.

To mark the momentous occasion, Botswana Life CEO Ronald Samuels participated in the much anticipated #BattleoftheCEOs Twitter challenge with BIHL Group CEO Catherine Lesetedi and BIC CEO Newton Jazire. All participants came prepared and the competition was heated, however in the end Mr. Samuels came out the victor and has been crowned the cook-off champion! Mr. Samuels has since decided to offer the P15,000 to the Cancer Association of Botswana (CAB).

GEARED FOR ENSURING OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE

Said Mr. Samuel, “This is a cause that is very close to the heart and purpose of Botswana Life. We aim to leave behind a legacy of impact we are honoured to be able to use this competition as an avenue to contribute to the wellbeing of society. CAB has made great strides in caring for those affected by cancer, and we are therefore honoured to be of service in any way we can. Thank you to everyone that participated in this challenge, and I am glad to have participated in such an exciting competition”.

The #BattleoftheCEOs certainly was an exciting challenge, having taken Twitter by storm, and left many hungry for more. The support for this initiative was overwhelming and Batswana came out in full force to pick the cook-off champion. “This was certainly out of my comfort zone, but absolutely well worth the effort”, concluded Mr. Samuels. “Botswana Life is always looking for new ways to contribute meaningfully to the lives of those we serve. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate our 45th Anniversary with all Batswana”.
