Ngele joins Chippa United

Botswana international Mogakolodi Ngele has found a new club after leaving Marumo Gallants, the Siya crew has gathered.

The left-footed midfielder is believed to have signed with Chippa United ahead of the start of the DSTV Premiership this weekend, reuniting with head coach Gavin Hunt. The two worked together while they were at Bidvest Wits and won the Premiership title in 2016/17.

Ngele was on loan to Wits from Sundowns at the time and played a key role in the Clever Boys’ success. Ngele’s career has not progressed so well after that season with Wits, having brief spells with SuperSport United, Black Leopards and Gallants (formerly Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila). 

The 30-year-old was with Gallants for one season last term, playing 13 matches as the club avoided relegation and won the Nedbank Cup by beating Chippa in the final.

Ngele was on being assessed by Swallows FC a few weeks ago, but was unable to secure a deal with the Dube Birds. The Siya crew understands that the player has penned a deal with the Chilli Boys and will be hoping he can make a mark at the club.

Chippa will kickstart their Premiership campaign against Sekhukhune United at Makhulong Stadium on Saturday, August 21.
