KHOEMACAU’S GM CYCLING CLASSIC RETURNS

The second edition of Khoemacau Copper Mining’s General Manager Lake Ngami Cycle Classic returns to Toteng village this weekend as more than 200 cyclists countrywide are expect to participate in this epic encounter.

The Objective of this event is to raise funds which shall be ploughed back into Khoemacau Communities of Interests such as Sehithwa, Bodibeng, Bothatogo, Toteng, Komana, Makgalo and Somelo village through the Community development Projects which has been developed by communities through facilitation by Khoemacau.

The Chairperson of Khoemacau Cycling Club, Gomolemo Gaolatlhe revealed to this publication that for the second edition which will be held on 22 October this month at Toteng, it will consist of fun ride and walks where members of the community will take part in.

He added that last week they had activations for the main event where they had run ride and walk for 10 kilometres.

As for the main event, Gaolatlhe highlighted that cyclists will be participating in a 140 kilometres ride as they will start from Toteng, pass through Sehithwa then goes to Bothatogo then returns to Toteng. Remembers this is Lake Ngami Cycle, we will be going around Lake Ngami areas.

He added that more that they are expecting all the cyclists around the country to participate in this upcoming event.

  ‘We expect this second edition to be more fun than the previous one and it is going to be bigger’, he said

Gaolatlhe also noted that the Chief Ride for the event is ABSA CEO, Keabetswe Pheko-Moshange who will ride alongside other cyclists. Last year First lady Neo Masisi was their chief rider.
