First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) recently launched the ever-anticipated annual Swipe & Win Competition. Despite the impacts of COVID-19, the Bank is committed to providing Real Help to customers, rewarding customer loyalty and safe and secure payment options. The Bank promises more excitement as this year’s competition is bigger and better.

Last year, grand prize winners walked away with 3 VW Polo Highlines each and this year the competition is bigger than before with customers having the opportunity to win a share of P1million. Nine (9) lucky customers will walk away with weekly cash prizes over the 9-week duration of the competition. This year the campaign is open to both retail and commercial customers.

“The world is rapidly moving towards digitisation and with our Swipe & Win competition we continue to encourage and motivate our customers to use their FNB card for payments. The competition will also serve as a platform to engage with our customers, getting feedback on ways we can improve payment service experience, rewarding them for their loyalty as well as  encouraging safe and secure transactional behaviour for day to day spends,” said Head of  Card Issuing & Consumer Sub-Segment, Tshepiso Scheffers.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted us to approach the competition with the understanding that there is a need for the Bank to offer real help to augment the aftereffects of the pandemic management plan. The pandemic continues to impact income of households and businesses alike, hence the decision to set aside P1million as cash prizes,” added Scheffers.

Scheffers further emphasised that there was a need to come up with prizes that gives the customer freedom to decide how best to improve their circumstances .She added that she  was hopeful of the many inspiring live changing testimonies that were going to be derived from the competition this year. The P1million will be shared between 9 finalists and 27 runner-ups, all FNB retail customers are encouraged to continue swiping to get FNB cashback rewards.

The competition will have weekly live draws for 9 weeks, which will be held in Gaborone for 3 weeks inclusive of the grand draw, Francistown, Maun, Ghanzi and Kasane. For each live draw, 3 weekly finalists will be selected at random and invited for a “Spin the Wheel” draw. Customers are encouraged to swipe their FNB Visa bank card at any POS in store to be automatically entered into the competition. The competition is exclusive to FNB Botswana cardholders, who are 18 years and older, whose accounts are in good standing.
