Absa Bank Botswana wins Best Bank Governance Award

Absa Bank Botswana recently received the recognition of being named the Best Bank Governance. The announcement was made by Business Vision in early October, London, 2021. The Business Vision (BV) Awards Programme seeks out candidates with outstanding corporate achievements, but all eventual winners will also have convinced the judging panel that they have the vision to maintain and build on their success well into the future. Following the announcement, the bank continues to ensure that its corporate governance, compliance and risk management practices are of world-class standards. The Bank is fully committed to upholding strict professionalism and the utmost integrity in all its undertakings. As a listed entity, the Bank has adopted and adheres to the principles of the Botswana Stock Exchange (“BSE”) Listings Requirements and the BSE Code of Best Practice on Corporate Governance (“the Code”).

The Bank has now attained compliance with the principles of King IV and is governed by the Absa Group Governance Framework that has been established with the King IV principles and practices in mind.
