. BDP Veterans/Elders & SADC must intervene

I know I have no power nor authority., I am just an ordinary citizen. But I have the spirit of our God that urges me to speak and preach righteousness. Secondly, as a follower and believer of our Lord Jesus, I have a duty and obligation to promote peace. I would have loved very much to see our current President Dr Masisi and former President General Dr Khama having a bond, cordial or harmonious relationship. As I write this note, my conscience is crystal clear that our forefathers and our children are watching with disbelief the heartbreaking, shameful and embarrassing treatment of former head of state Lt. General Dr Khama. I dont think the architect of our national vision 2016 which gave birth to vision 2036 former President Sir Quette Masire envisaged such scenario for our nation. In my view, so as to preserve our reputation as s country, its imperative for the likes of Hon. Dr DK Kwelagobe, Hon. Patrick Balopi, Mr Satar Dada, Hon. Dr Chiepe, Hon. Shaw Kgathi, Hon. Nkate, Isaac Seloka e.t.c. to use their wisdom urgently and demand an end to this abnormal situation. The BDP women’s league is one such organ that can play a meaningful role in seeking an audience with party leadership and demand a dialogue between our two leaders former and current. I wonder if our leaders took hid of DK Kwelagobe’s words during recent President’s day celebrations in Gaborone. I am disappointed with BDP parliamentary caucus for failing to rise to the occasion by not being impartial. I strongly hold the opinion that BDP parliamentarians should be helpful in bringing the two leaders together and reign over any state organ seem to be abusing its power. Last but not least I wonder what SADC is waiting for. I send an SOS to SADC especially executive secretary who happens to be a Motswana to also play a mediation role. I implore all peace loving people including Churches to demand the two to have a dialogue and smoke peace pipe. As Batswana we must be very weary of bunch of bootlickers who are bent on fuelling this unnecessary rift. BDP must realise such people are neither helping the party but are busy alienating electorates from the party. Actual they add no value neither do they help the President in any way, their agenda is their selfish interests. In fact, these are dangerous enemies within.

Yours Sincerely,

LEKANG MUKOKOMANI

Former Mayor of Selebi Phikwe
