Ndaba smells AP victory

President of Alliance for Progressives (AP) Ndaba Gaolathe has warned doubting Thomases over the party’s capability to perform wonders in the 2019 general elections to hold their horses.

The soft spoken Ndaba sent a warning to Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and opposition coalition Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) for ruling out the AP as favorites to be a suicidal bomb. Speaking during his (and his team of councilors)official launch over the weekend, Ndaba said AP is optimistic of winning state power just like other opponents in ruling BDP and UDC.

It came to the attention of Gaborone Bonnington South legislator, that majority of people talk of a race being measured between UDC and BDP leaving out or taking for granted other parties. “AP is also fully in the race of winning state power at the polls and we are not just in the space to add numbers. We have been aware that we have been quite taken as the underdogs but I am warning you a new Botswana lies ahead of us courtesy of AP pulling wonders, “said Ndaba.

He said it is of paramount importance to strike off misconception that AP could not survive in the absence of umbrella coalition adding that the party has grown tremendously since its birth.

In terms of parliamentary seats to be won by the individual parties, he says AP will occupy more seats in parliament but said he anticipates that no party is likely to register 29 parliament seats.

In addition, Ndaba also remains optimistic that he will be returning to parliament with the seat of the constituency that he won back in 2014 elections under t UDC banner representing BMD.

Gaolatlhe will be vying for the constituency glory on what seems to be a closely contested three men race against Ketlhalefile Motshwegwa of UDC as well as Christian Greeff representing BDP.

He insisted that the AP’s vision for Botswana is to resuscitate the country’s ailing economy by ensuring creation of sustainable jobs through sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing.

For his part AP vice president Wynter Mmolotsi said the party cannot dwell in promising electorates the dreams that they cannot be afforded in reality such as P 3 000 living wage as proposed by the UDC while he blasted BDP for not offering any hope to Batswana for 53 years.

He said the country’s economy is on sick bed as lot of deficits has been incurred year on year leading to government to borrow money to run daily business including for paying salaries.
