MR. G. KEKGONEGILE, MP. (MAUN EAST): To ask the Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services if he is aware of acute water shortages in Maun, greater Maun villages and the dehumanising effect of water shortage in the area; and if so, he should further state:

(i) the amount in litres needed by the Maun community on a daily basis;

(ii) if the current supply meets the demand; if not, what is the discrepancy;

(iii) the mitigating factors to avail water to the Maun community in the short and long term;

(iv) if the current national water situation can be declared a public emergency or national crisis in terms of Section 17 (1) of the Constitution of Botswana; and if so,

(v) the kind of assistance the Ministry will seek from this Honourable House to mitigate.

MR. D. L. KEORAPETSE, MP. (SELEBI PHIKWE WEST): To ask the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development:

(i) if sports academies are important for sports development and if there are plans in place to build such facilities and if not;

(ii) to state the reasons; and if so,

(iii) to elaborate on those plans.

MR. P. MAJAGA, MP. (NATA-GWETA): To ask the Minister of Transport and Communications when the Nata-Francistown-Nata-Maun road construction project will commence, as it was long promised to the constituents of Nata-Gweta by the three previous Ministers.

MR. G. KEKGONEGILE, MP. (MAUN EAST): To ask the Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to update this Honourable House:

(i) on the status of tribal land allocation in Khwai, Sankoyo, Mochaba and Sexaxa in terms of when the Tawana Land Board last made allocations;

(ii) why there has been delays or suspensions of allocations and when the next allocations will be in the said villages; and

(iii) on the land allocation demarcating Mababe village to allow for both state and tribal land.

MR. D. TSHERE, MP. (MAHALAPYE WEST): To ask the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development to state:

(i) when he is planning to build a sports complex with facilities for all sporting codes in the Mahalapye Sub-District; and

(ii) what his plan is regarding the youth of Mahalapye Sub-District on issues of sports.

MR. O. REGOENG, MP. (MOLEPOLOLE NORTH): To ask the Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to state when the construction of the water pipeline from Gamononyane water plant to Molepolole is expected to commence and how long it will take to complete.

MR. M. REATILE, MP. (JWANENG-MABUTSANE): To ask the Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security to:

(i) state the number of people who were trained on food processing; and

(ii) update this Honourable House on the number of those people who have established and set up viable businesses since being trained.

MR. K. C. HIKUAMA, MP. (NGAMI): To ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development to update this Honourable House on the progress made by his Ministry in completing the recognition process of the Bayei people as an official and legally recognised tribe in Botswana and to state:

(i) when he will accord their Kgosi an official status enjoyed by other recognised Dikgosi;

(ii) if he will consider providing office space for him to duly conduct his tribal duties and affairs; and

(iii) when he will effect official payment in line with his duty as a recognised Kgosi.

MR. D. L. KEORAPETSE, MP. (SELEBI PHIKWE WEST): To ask the Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology to update this Honourable House on international scientific researches and breakthroughs in medical marijuana and to state global and regional trends on the same including commerce, and to inform this Honourable House on whether:

(i) the country is interested in medical marijuana research and if not, why; and if so, to explain; and

(ii) there is commercial value in medical marijuana research.

MR. T. LETSHOLO, MP. (KANYE NORTH): To ask the Minister of Finance and Economic Development if he is aware that late payments to suppliers sabotages and collapses small businesses in Botswana; and if so, to state:

(i) if it is not time to penalise or criminalise late payments of suppliers;

(ii) when Government will have a compliance office to monitor adherence to payment standards by Government; and

(iii) how many businesses in the Kanye North Constituency have been affected by this over the last five (5) years.
