Small and medium-sized enterprises have been hit the hardest since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and in turn accelerating the growth of unemployment and poverty in Botswana and Africa. In turn the pandemic continues to cause more burdens to vulnerable groups such as women and children who already face challenges in fulfilling their basic needs, access to resources and financial stability. To curb this and map a recovery plan, Moms In Business Africa (MIB Africa) is excited to launch the 2021 Summer Pop-up Market. The event will take place on the 20th of November this year, from 10 am until late at the Gaborone Cricket Club just behind the National Stadium. Entrance is free and stalls will be rented at 250.00 BWP. Powered by Round Table Botswana, the Pop-Up Market is an opportunity for mothers to come together, market, learn, generate revenue and even collaborate. The event will feature exhibitors and vendors ranging from the agricultural sector, food processing, arts & crafts, fashion and beauty, local services, locally manufactured products and many others. “Mothers are the pillars of the communities and with this pop-up market it is our hope to bridge the gap on a long way to recovering the women owned Small and medium-sized enterprises in the country. “ Co-founder Selwana Elizabeth Phiri.
