The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Honourable Eric Mothibi Molale says Government is appreciative of the efforts of Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs) such as CSI-Concepts Foundation in community development.

Receiving a donation of 700 neck buffs on behalf of some deserving primary schoolchildren identified by the Foundation on Monday July 6, 2020, the Minister noted that the Desert Bush Walk activities that support vulnerable communities are commendable as they mobilize resources for social protection, which remains Government’s primary commitment. “We commit to explore partnerships and collaborative efforts with you through Jwaneng Town Council and Southern District Council to complement your efforts in resource mobilization and build a relationship to support remote areas.”

Chairperson of CSI-Concepts Foundation, Mr. Archibald Ngakayagae says the Foundation supports inclusive and sustainable projects in Botswana with emphasis on community empowerment, children and underprivileged members of society.

Since its inception in 2014, the Desert Bush Walk has raised over P1.5 million and over 32 652 school children have benefitted from the Foundation across Botswana. Some of the projects include the construction of a Creative Learning Centre, acquisition of equipment for a Resource Centre, acquisition of computers for some schools, construction of a reception classroom as well as contribution of funds for Early Childhood Development programme and National COVID-19 Relief Programme.
