Former President Ian Khama has responded to the allegations levelled against him by President Mokgweetsi Masisi that he (Khama) has fallen out with him because he dint appoint Khama’s young brother Tshekedi Khama to the vice presidency position.

President Masisi came with guns blazing during Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) National Council making strong revelations that led to the ugly fallout with his predecessor Ian Khama.

According to Masisi in the audios that went viral, one of the reasons that Khama hates him is because he refused to appoint his younger brother Tshekedi to the position of Vice President.

Khama has said the claims by Masisi with regards to appointing TK for VP position is one of the most offensive misrepresentation of the facts by Masisi, noting that he has never considered his brother for vice presidency and never asked Masisi to appoint him (TK) to the position as well.

“It is my observation that Dr Masisi has either suffered cruel loss of memory in most if not all of the allegations he is levelling at me, or has chosen to forget facts as known to him and I, and those that were in Cabinet and Senior Public Service positions during my presidency,” said Khama, hitting back against claims levelled against him by Masisi.

Khama said he fully supported Masisi for the BDP Chairmanship at Mmadinare and Tonota, adding that he played his part in making sure that Dr Masisi prevailed to the top.
