Masa Square Hotel appoints new GM

Masa Square Hotel has appointed Hayden Carl Bowl as General Manager of the business-first, luxury hotel effective 01 February 2019, a role he has been acting on since January this year.

Hayden has also served as the Hotel’s General Manager – Revenue and Rooms Division Manager. With over 20 years in the hospitality industry, most of which in a managerial position, Hayden has worked for a number of hotels in Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom. Some of these include The Vineyard at Stockcross, Donnington Valley Hotel & Spa, Marygreen Manor Hotel and Meikles Hotel.

Masa Square Hotel Director Jacopo Pari said: “We pride ourselves in being able to attract key talent as we strive to redefine the hospitality experience of business and leisure travellers in Botswana. Having joined us in 2013, Hayden has proven to be a valuable member of the team with a great flair for leadership. We are not just a business but a family, and we invest a great deal in our people.”

His impressive resume speaks to his drive for excellence and close attention to detail, having worked with Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) in the set-up stage of inspection. Not only is he a member of Chaine de Rotisseur – Maître d ’Hotel – West Berkshire chapter, but a Developing General Management Potential – 2008 Alumni of Cranfield University, Milton Keynes, England. Hayden has also held the titles of Judge and Master of Ceremonies at the Housekeeper of the Year 2018 awards.

Commenting on his appointment, Hayden said: “I am truly humbled by the responsibility bestowed upon me. I am also grateful to have a supportive team; together we have achieved many milestones, and have many more ahead of us. Our exemplary hosting skills have allowed us to continue being Gaborone’s premier business hotel, a heritage which I promise to uphold”.
