In an endeavor to increase access to its services, Liberty Life Botswana has roped in Botswana Post to distribute its funeral policy given the geographic footprint that the Post Office boasts of nationwide.

The Acting Managing Director of Liberty Life Joy Buno said the company is embarking on expansion drive to create easy access to their retail services.  

According to her, Botswana Post will be a critical strategic partner in expanding Liberty Life.

She said the business is confident of growth because Botswana Post offers great accessibility.

“Our long term plan is to expand our geographic footprint. We are currently operating from our headquarters in Gaborone and we want our presence to reach every town and village in Botswana. We identified Botswana Post as a fitting partner to create solutions that work for clients,” said Buno.

In addition, Buno said the Covid-19 pandemic pressured the business though things have started to improve.

To remain resilient amidst the pandemic, Buno said Liberty Life refreshed its brand to the tagline “In it with You”, so as to demonstrate its commitment to supporting its customers.

For his part, Chief Commercial Officer at Botswana Post Clifford Lekoko said Liberty Life as their key partner.

Lekoko said Botswana Post has embarked on transformation to keep up with the times and the challenges presented by new technology such as SMS and WhatsApp.

“There has been a significant drop on our revenue due to the advancement of technology. So, we have adopted a strategy that shaped us to be of a service provider more than just a traditional postal service provider. We would like to see ourselves expanding in the region and globally,” he added.

Lekoko said Liberty Life will benefit from the Botswana Post’s digital services to get more exposure.

“We will ensure that Liberty has the right technology to sell its products. The government has invested in the infrastructure that will enable us to grow our portfolio and that of Liberty. We have launched the Virtual Teller Machine (VTM) in Maun and Liberty can add its services too,” he said.

First of its kind in Botswana and African continent at large, Botswana Post is confident that the VTM machine will unlock more value by attracting new clients.
