“I look at you today with a sense of pride because I know that to be where you are today, you have had to overcome obstacles, you burnt the midnight oil and there were times that you thought of giving up but the good thing is that you stayed the course because you knew where your true north was and I thank you for that. In the job market, you will face tough competition. You will be told there is limited space but hold the fort. Volunteer where you have to, you will have a step in the door. Whenever you are given an opportunity give your best. Research, go beyond the call of duty and be an asset so that your services are needed. Don’t be a normal employee. Be a performer,” said ISBS Managing Director Nidheesh Sharma when he addressed the graduates during the graduation ceremony.

He further went on to advise the student to be hands-on and not wait for employment to find them but rather create employment for themselves. Sharma urged the students to master the art of developing business plans, and approach institutions such as CEDA and LEA for funding so they start their businesses.

“As we are all aware the 21st century is awash with many opportunities and challenges. It is only optimistic that can rise above and turn challenges into opportunities. I, therefore, urge you to acknowledge and take advantage of the Government efforts in providing facilities beyond tertiary education and contribute towards economic diversification,” said the ISBS Managing Director.

ISBS has been operating in Botswana for the past 20 years and it has produced several industry leaders that are leading different entities across the country and regionally. The institution has been a major driver in the Botswana education sector.

During the graduation ceremony, high performing graduates received awards and certificates for the hard work that they have put in.
