Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) presidential hopeful Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi suffered a political blow when her right hand man Youth League’s deputy chairperson Vuyo Notha was slapped with a two-year suspension this week.
Notha, who was supposed to face a disciplinary hearing for attending the fateful Lady Khama Meeting which was not sanctioned by the party, had rude awakening when Party President Mokgweetsi Masisi suspended him from the party.
Notha – a special elected councilor in Sowa – will not be able to attend the Kang congress though he was viewed as the one who will draw youthful delegates to Venson-Moitoi’s side. Contacted for comment, Chairman of the BDP Communications committee, Kagelelo Kentse, confirmed the suspension
