The Alliance for Progressives (AP) have thrown a spanner in the works, making preliminary demands at the ongoing coalition talks with Botswana Congress Party (BCP), asking for 14 constituencies previously held by Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) under the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).
The Patriot on Sunday has turned up information that the Ndaba Gaolathe led purple movement have submitted their demands to the BCP regarding the allocation of constituencies. The early expression of interest on constituencies advanced by the AP is expected to test the strength of the coalition talks. BMD -a founding member of the UDC, suffered a split in 2017 which gave birth to the AP, before they were eventually expelled from the umbrella.
