Gaborone wins Gasennelwe Best Marketing Graduate Award

… As Incepta Communications honours the late Mathata Gasennelwe  

The Mathata Gasennelwe Best Marketing Graduate award is set in honour of the late Gasennelwe‘s contribution to youth entrepreneurship and the marketing industry. The award comprises of an internship and mentorship programme that allows the winner to grow in the Marketing fraternity at a local organisation. Piloted in 2010, the prize is in its 11th year of being awarded which demonstrates the commitment of the business community to Gasennelwe’s legacy for over a decade. Incepta Communications, a local creative communications and strategy consultancy that prides itself in marketing and advertising, is delighted to be a contributor to the award that was handed over to the top student last year at the University of Botswana 2020/21 Graduation. As an Agency that has groomed and continues to nurture many professionals in the marketing, communications and creative hemisphere, Incepta Communications Managing Director, Thabo Majola alluded to how committed Incepta is to positively creating impact in the marketing industry. Said Majola, “Incepta has been around for 14 years now and we’ve had the privilege of on working a variety of renowned local and international brands. We often refer to ourselves as the ‘home of experts’ and take deep pride in nurturing young qualified individuals into professional specialists in their area of practice. We have a particular soft spot for the youth and the company itself is predominantly made up of vibrant, fresh-minded youth employees.” Thabo went on to express , “I worked with the late Mathata Gasennelwe for years at Horizon Ogilvy & Mather. Having had the privilege of working under his stewardship and leading the pack, sponsoring the award in his honour came very naturally to us. Mathata was a distinguished and very sharp leader whose contribution to the marketing & entrepreneurship industry is undeniable and will never be forgotten. In closing, I would like borrow from the words of Political Scientist, Mr Kalu Ndukwe Kalu, ‘The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy.” This year, Anele Gaborone is the lucky recipient of the Mathata Gasennelwe Award after becoming the best Marketing student in her year from the University of Botswana 2021 graduates, as a result Ms. Gaborone won herself a three-month internship with Incepta Communications. In her own words, “It was an honor to be awarded the Mathata Gasennelwe Prize, his contribution to the marketing industry and youth entrepreneurship is unprecedented. I am grateful to be recognized as the best graduating Motswana student in Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) and more than that I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Incepta team. I believe that award was designed to help winners grow and I look forward to learning and growing in the industry and beyond.” Anele Gaborone began her internship on the 06th December 2021 at Incepta Communications, Gaborone. Her contract is for 3 months and has great potential to unlock permanent employment for her.
