Wellness Within Our Realities organisation will on August 12 host an intimate therapeutic session on mental health, with a mandate to aid individuals build capacity for mental health. The objective of the event is to unpack the theme “overcoming life challenges “ pertaining to mental health and holistic wellness. In an era where social ills are rapidly increasing as a result of emotional and psychological resilience, mental health is critically paramount.

The founder of Wellness Within Our Realities Phemelo Bakgethisi-Mongwato is of the idea that wellness is an act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, to be in a state of complete thriving not surviving. “Wellness comprises of different aspects with major ones being mental, spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial wellness. These are areas that will contribute to the all round wellness of an individual within one’s reality. Realities are experiences and realities highly contribute to the quality of our wellness,”explained Mongwato.

Wellness within our realities speaks to being in cognizance of one’s actual life happenings and making it a point to consistently create healthy habits that will contribute positively to your holistic wellbeing. Deliberating further, Mongwato shared that it is wise to create fulfilling healthy environments which are key for desirable wellbeing first at a personal level. “An individual forms part of a family and families form a society whereas societies form a nation. Therefore when we live by thriving in healthy habits, be it our thought patters and our conversations we ultimately help to curb society’s common ills inclusive of suicidals, passion killings, substance abuse and rape,”.

His Excellency President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s mindset change campaign is envisioned with driving transformation and fostering a collective shift in attitudes and perspectives. In the same manner, mental health is a way to making upright decisions which result in healthy relationships and upright actions. “HE has challenged all of us to drastically shift our way of thinking and doing things as there is a need to be more effective, creative, agile and to be confident about ourselves and project the same to the world as we set out to become a high income country. Wellness within our realities plays its role to support this campaign by creating platforms that provide all round life altering solutions centred around mental well-being,”.

A better Botswana is possible through mindset change and becoming receptive to change as per our needs as individuals. As a result, Wellness Within Our Realities event which will be held in Jwaneng, is set to not only impact lives at a personal but national level, for the benefit and betterment of the country.
