Northern Air Maintenance (N.A.M) is an Approved Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) and a Fixed Based Operator (FBO) based in Maun, Botswana. Our organisation is approved by Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe Civil Aviation Authorities. N.A.M has a well-established Avionics Workshop which includes the only Civil Aircraft Instrument Overhaul workshop in Botswana. As an AMO, maintaining aircraft is at the core of our business and our commitment to the aviation industry. The fleet is biased towards Cessna and Pratt and Whitney turbine powered aircraft. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and dedicated individual with a passion and proven experience in Creditors management and Bookkeeping. The applicant will be based in Maun.

JOB TITLE:  ACCOUNTS CLERK

The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for creditors (services) process and payment process.

Key Responsibilities:

Creditors management

  • Accurately processing supplier invoices on a daily basis
    • Invoices to be processed should be properly authorized (signed off) in accordance with levels of authority and on processing; should be allocated to the correct Supplier & General Ledger accounts
  • Process BURS, salary related payments and the related GL processing
  • Prepare monthly supplier balances to supplier statements reconciliations ensuring all processed invoices are paid for on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare payables aging summary and comments before month end close
  • Sending remittance advices to supplier after completion of the payment run and share the proof of payments
  • Contact suppliers and request for statements, where invoices are missing, request for additional information
  • Liaise with suppliers for any other necessary information and KYC

 

Bank management:

  • Capturing bank transactions
  • Preparation of cash availability reports based on bank statements
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements
  • Petty cash management

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • External repairs and sundry debtor invoices clearing
  • Participate in stock counts and accurately record counted quantities in the accounting package
  • Balancing of intercompany accounts creditors, debtors and loan accounts
  • Stand-in for other staff members when they are on leave.

Minimum Requirements

  • AAT Level 4 or Degree in accounting or any equivalent qualification.
  • 3 years of full function Creditors and Bookkeeping experience.
  • General computer literate to at least intermediate level (Windows MS Word and Excel).
  • Knowledge of the Great Plains accounting system or any other accounting software package.
  • Understand age analysis of accounts and understand general ledger structure.
