Events coordinator for Major Moves Comedy Mr Gaolathe Kediemetse said, “having produced a number of outstanding shows featuring international stars, we are finally back and want to showcase different forms of comedy and also bring fresh new comics who are hot and in demand now.” The enigmatic and charismatic Jay Boogie, has over the last 10 years firmly entrenched himself as one of the most commercially successful comedians in South Africa (SA). Jay Boogie, real name Jordan Mazibuko, has won the accolade for Top Online Vernac Set at the SA Comedy Awards. Jay’s personal jokes are all cultural and environmental to his own surroundings. After 10 years in the funny business, the secret to his success is his refreshingly different comedy style.

Mbongeni Ignatius is a popular Zimbabwean theatre stage actor and a comedian with family friendly material. Mbongeni’s name is synonymous with Bulawayo stand up circuit. He has performed at Rainbow Comedy Fest, Simuka Comedy, Comedy Festival YakoBulawayo and Shoko festival to mention a few. He performed alongside Botswana’s very own Bambino at the inaugural Kwantuthu International Comedy Festival in Bulawayo last year.

The comedy event is made up of an amusing and funny lineup that features a plethora of top local comedians who have been mesmerizing crowds across the country and internationally. The stellar lineup that has resident host Onkgopotse ‘Mdala Ka Tjeludo’ Mugende will see humorous comedy from the legendary Bafana ‘Ribcracker’ Letsatsi, Augustus Phillemon, Maatla Ephraim Basha, Prince Chopiro and Thapelo Malani. The event will also bring upcoming comedians to the forefront as new comedians will be introduced and given a chance to share stage with these established acts.

The venue sponsor is Staybridge Hotel which is in the heart of the city just after the UB circle. “We have had tremendous support for our past shows from both the public and the media alike. We promise a truly enjoyable, relaxing and funny event with this production. We have a fresh new lineup, fresh new headliners and people must come and experience the best and ultimate entertainment from beginning to the end,” says events coordinator Mr Kediemetse. Tickets for the comedy night are available at Webtickets & Spar outlets priced from P150 single and P200 double. The show starts at 8pm.
