Other artists include Mingo Touch, Naisi Boy, BJB, Veveveh, Frost, Zolasko Vatsay and Slam. Disc Jockeys Zaynne, Swaps, Kops, Copperhead, Names and Mizzy’s tunes will also offer their talents at the Dj booth.

Revelers will be treated to a bevy of local talents who will be ushered onto the stage through the mastery of directors, Miss Gee Kays (RB2), Coolest Feleb as well as Talitha. Amongst the festivities will be a football tournament between the village’s football clubs; baphuting Social Club, Serowe Gold Stars Football Club, Western Tigers and Winners Park. The winner of the tourney will get the bragging rights as the first Serowe my Motherland Family Fun Day champions and a trophy to boot. The first prize also entails a brand new kit for the winning team.

Speaking to The Patriot Lifestyle, event Organiser and Promoter, Rosinah Makgoeng explains that the soiree is geared towards giving the residents of Serowe an event where they can relax and enjoy their independence holidays. “This will be the first of its kind in Serowe and it promises good clean fun,” she states.

Makgoeng also lets in that the proceeds of the event will go towards a documentary film that she intends to compile on the history of the village.

“Serowe has such a rich history as it is the birth place of the pioneering president of the country,” she enthuses, adding that she got the idea for a documentary after having travelled to South Africa and seen the amount of material and information that is disseminated on the country’s former President, Nelson Mandela. “Our first president has a lot of history that is linked with that of the village and my documentary will be premised on these two aspects,” reveals Makgoeng who also acknowledges that though she has not gone to film school, she is working closely with local qualified young people to ensure her dream if producing a documentary comes to fruition.
