Oceans Lame Pusetso (23), popularly known by stage name Poeticblood has taken the love of poetry and art to another level. Poeticblood who grew up in Hukuntsi, Kgalagadi North and was inspired by her home situation to write.

Growing up, her mother strived to make ends meet at home, struggling to provide for seven children. Although Pusetso’s mother couldn’t read and write she still pushed her to write short articles as she saw the girl’s brewing passion for writing. As the support from her parents grew she realized that she should harness the backing and start writing. “I started writing some poems on Facebook and got attention which drove me to say, we are the new generation, ready to write and read. So here we are, I have published my first book.”

Her Anthology Ocean of Untold Goodbyes was released this year May and won an international award called African Authors Award two months after its release in Johannesburg South Africa. The anthology which is an honor to her late father is a poetry anthology. It is a compilation of poems speaking about different kinds of circumstances in life be it love, loyalty, betrayal, patriotism and many others.

The book is a rumination of stories from father to a daughter, it is a message of thought of what the father could have said to her if he was alive but due to death he cannot, and therefore the stories remain untold. The book sold over 300 copies since being published.

On the 31st of October Women In Arts Trust , an organization that encourages women to be self-reliant in building their creative talent ,and incorporating life skills into arts consequently creating a platform for women empowerment focusing more on employment through creative arts. The organization held an award celebration and book launch in Poeticblood’s honor.

Pusetso is currently a titan member of Poetic Omnibus organization. She is also the Founding President of a poetry movement called Dare to Fly which helps nurture literature gifts for school going students. She is also a  Litlight Nigeria and Botswana Ambassador. She has achieved many awards such as being a Presidential regional competitions winner in the poetry segment in Ghanzi 2018 , Babishai Niwe Poetry Festival panelist- in Uganda  in the year 2018 and also LitLight Nigeria contest winner in the year  2019.She believes that perseverance is the key to success.
