This year’s National Children’s Consultative Forum (NCCF) is set for Maun Lodge on December 2-6, 2019. Established by the Children’ Act of 2009, the forum is a structure of Elected Members who lobby and advocate for issues of child survival, development, protection and their participation in decisions that affect them.
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Honourable Setlhabelo Nasser Modukanele will officiate at the Forum, which is expected to draw participation of the children and youth from across all the 16 Districts. The Maun Forum will provide for the election and orientation of the new National Executive Committee (NEC) which will hold office for the next two years.
The Forum will equally discuss various issues such as education, health, safety or general wellbeing of children and make recommendation to the National Children’s Council (NCC) and liaise with the latter for advocacy on child-centered approach to legislation, policies, strategies and programmes with a view to lobbying for resources to be allocated to children’s initiatives and activities.
