Gospel singer, Daniel Mmemo has started the year on a high note following a nomination for music awards in the United States of America.

He has been nominated for Gospel Choice Music Awards, best Rap CD (album) of the year, in the gospel music awards scheduled for June 2023 in Atlanta Georgia. Following the hard season of Covid19 which crippled many of courage especially in the music industry, Mmemo has nevertheless strived towards achieving greater heights within the same field. The celebrated musician is excitedly looking forward to the event, also hoping to win the nomination award.

“I am beyond excited for this. It feels like a huge accomplishment already, especially considering the standard of Hip Hop music from the US,” he said. Mmemo deems the recognition of his work as a dream come true.

The Gospel Choice Music Awards voting lines are conducted online through their website, with lines open from the 10th of March 2023. “My expectation is to bag that award especially as this is my first international award nomination. I therefore plead with Batswana to make their vote count. My team and I will share a flier soon with full details on the procedures of how to vote,”said the singer.

Having had started music professionally in 2012, Mmemo discovered his rap skills years ago in church. As a diverse musician, he has written many songs including his trending “Tselane” hit where he featured Fifi Afrika. His greatest drive as a musician is to at the end of the day offer an alternative entertaining music which draws people closer to their maker, God and help them see and experience His amazing love and presence.

Moreover, he wishes to positively influence and redefine the way through which many songs through lyrics portray life. “Through my music, I hope to replace the violence, degrading of women and use of vulgar in hip hop by writing uplifting lyrics. Lyrics have a strongly influential sense of impact, hence the message delivered in song should be meaningful,”.
