In a momentous celebration of beauty, intelligence, and environmental advocacy, Edith Segokgo has been crowned Miss Eco Botswana 2025. Hailing from the picturesque village of Moshupa, Edith embodies the spirit of a new generation of leaders committed to making a difference in their communities and the world. Currently a dedicated student at Botswana Accountancy College, she is pursuing her studies through the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, blending her academic ambitions with a deep-rooted passion for sustainable practices and environmental preservation.

The Miss Eco International Botswana pageant, which is making its highly anticipated debut this year, aims to provide an inclusive platform for contestants while emphasizing the importance of eco-awareness and sustainability. Licensed by Dr. Amal, the pageant is unique in its approach, as it is hosted in the northern regions of Botswana. This strategic decision ensures that contestants from diverse backgrounds, including those from renowned tourist destinations like Chobe, Kasane, and Maun, have the opportunity to participate and showcase their talents.
Edith’s journey as Miss Eco Botswana is not merely about beauty; it is intricately tied to her desire to inspire others to embrace sustainable living. She believes that beauty should be a catalyst for positive change and a means to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues. With a strong academic foundation and a commitment to environmental advocacy, she is determined to contribute to the global movement for ecological preservation and sustainable development.
Outside the classroom, Edith is a multifaceted individual with a rich array of talents. She is a gifted ballet dancer and singer, disciplines that have allowed her to express her creativity and forge a deep connection to the arts. Edith recognizes the power of the arts in promoting environmental awareness, using her artistic skills to engage and inspire others. Through performances and community events, she hopes to reach a wider audience and convey the critical message of ecological protection.
Her love for nature extends beyond artistic expression; it is a core aspect of her identity. Edith is committed to protecting the environment and encourages everyone around her to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. Whether it’s promoting recycling initiatives, advocating for sustainable tourism, or engaging in local conservation efforts, she is dedicated to being a positive role model for others.
In addition to her academic and artistic pursuits, Edith finds fulfillment and purpose through her active involvement in her church. Her faith plays a significant role in her life, instilling values of community service and compassion. She appreciates the sense of belonging and support that comes from her spiritual journey, which reinforces her commitment to making a difference not just in her community but also in the world at large. Through her church, Edith participates in various outreach programs and community service initiatives, aiming to uplift those in need and promote a sense of unity and collective responsibility.
Health and wellness are also pivotal to Edith’s lifestyle. She believes that maintaining physical strength and mental clarity is essential for personal growth and effective advocacy. Regularly attending the gym, she prioritizes fitness as a vital component of her daily routine. For Edith, a balanced lifestyle—anchored in faith, fitness, and sustainability—is key to achieving her goals and remaining resilient in the face of challenges.
As Miss Eco Botswana, Edith is committed to leveraging her platform to advocate for environmental awareness and inspire others to take responsibility for their impact on the planet. She recognizes that educating the youth about sustainable practices is crucial for creating a brighter, more sustainable future. Through workshops, community outreach programs, and social media campaigns, she aims to engage and empower young people, encouraging them to be proactive in their approach to environmental stewardship.
Edith plans to initiate various projects during her reign, focusing on practical, everyday actions that individuals can take to contribute to sustainability. From tree-planting initiatives to clean-up campaigns, she seeks to create tangible changes that will inspire others to join the movement. Her vision extends to collaborating with local businesses and organizations to promote eco-friendly practices and sustainable tourism, highlighting the beauty of Botswana’s natural landscapes while ensuring their protection for future generations.
Looking ahead, Edith is excited about her upcoming participation in the Miss Eco International competition in Egypt from April 8-20, 2025. This prestigious event will provide her with an incredible opportunity to represent Botswana on an international stage, where she can share her message of ecological preservation and sustainable living with a global audience. She hopes to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations, fostering partnerships that can amplify the impact of her environmental advocacy efforts.
As she embarks on this transformative journey, Edith Segokgo stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration. Her dedication to sustainability, combined with her passion for the arts and commitment to community service, positions her as a powerful advocate for change. Through her reign as Miss Eco Botswana, she aspires to empower others, especially the youth, to embrace their roles as stewards of the environment and to take actionable steps towards a more sustainable future.
In a world where environmental challenges are increasingly pressing, Edith’s journey is a reminder that beauty can be a force for good. With her unwavering determination and a commitment to her values, she embodies the spirit of change that is necessary for a brighter and more sustainable future. As she prepares to take the stage in Egypt, Edith Segokgo not only represents Botswana but also serves as a symbol of hope for communities around the world.
Her message is clear: every individual has the power to make a difference, and together, we can create a harmonious balance between progress and preservation. Through her advocacy, she aims to inspire others to join her in this vital mission, proving that beauty, when coupled with purpose, can indeed change the world. As she steps into this new chapter, Edith looks forward to forging connections, sharing ideas, and igniting passion for environmental stewardship in hearts and minds everywhere. With her unwavering spirit and vision for a sustainable future, she is set to leave a lasting legacy that transcends borders and generations.
