South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest will headline the 4th Annual Born & Raised music festival in Serowe, Botswana on December 22, 2019 at Serowe Sport Complex.

The event targets revellers in the Central District of Botswana with an aim to raise and channel proceeds to community development.   Joining Nyovest are house duo Kaybee Daking & Bizizi of Kokota piano fame, TNS and various local artists.

Proceeds from past shows were channelled towards the adopt-a-school initiative and then donated graduation gowns, full computer desktops and heavy-duty printers worth P75000 to Motalaote Primary School.

In 2018, following another prosperous music festival in December 2017, Born & Raised built a two-bedroomed house for a widower in Tswapong who lived with 15 of his children and grandchildren in a makeshift shelter with iron sheets. The then, Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs Dorcas Makgato, officiated at the hand-over ceremony of the house. Part of the donations were two months grocery, double and single bed together with bedding, 4-burner stove and 19kg gas cylinder.

Born & Raised’s corporate partners include G4S security company, DumaFM, Chicken Licken, Ministry of Youth Empowerment,  Sport and Culture Development,  The Patriot newspaper and Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC). Born & Raised promoters say they are open to welcoming more corporate partners
