‘To evict an old man, who is ailing after serving this nation all his life is extra-ordinarily unprecedented in a society like ours where respect and consideration are the cornerstone of our culture’ -Khama

Bamangwato Paramount Chief, Lieutenant General Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama has criticised Botswana government for being vindictive and petty, after Kgosi Sediegeng Kgamane was evicted from a pool house he has been residing in.
Responding to questions from The Patriot on Sunday, Khama said government should not evict Kgamane because the house he occupies does not belong to the state. “Even if it was, to evict an old person, who is not well, and who has served this nation for so long is extraordinarily unprecedented in a society like ours where respect and consideration are supposed to be the cornerstone of our culture,” he said.
