The Mahindra S6 is brand’s flagship single cab model and is offered with the choice of either 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains, slotting just above the workhorse S4. The latter is also available with both drivetrain options and with the option of a heavy-duty dropside load bay.

Viewed from outside, the S6 Single Cab benefits from the design changes first seen on the S11 Automatic Double Cab and which have now trickled down to the S10 Double Cab and S6 Single Cab models.

The new corporate grille is the centerpiece of this design change. The large, seven-slot chromed grille and large Mahindra badge resembles the new look double cab and Scorpio models.  Flanking the grille are new headlamps that are fitted with clear indicator lenses and embedded orange indicator bulbs. This same motif is repeated in the side indicators.

The S6 now also features a reworked front bumper, with integrated fog lamps and chrome detailing. On a functional level, Mahindra has redesigned the styling bar for added rigidity and improved tie down capabilities. This styling bar is bolted onto the rear load bay and is standard on both the 4×2 and 4×4 models.

Lastly, Mahindra has added an electric locking mechanism to the fuel lid, which now allows the fuel door to be opened remotely.

ENHANCED INTERIOR

The real added value, which Mahindra is known for, can be found inside the cabin. The driver now has the benefit of electric rear view mirror adjustment, one-touch lane change indicators and cruise control. These features are often a cost option on pick up models but are included in the S6 at the same retail price.

The S6 single cab range has also wide band between 1 500 rpm and 2 800 rpm. This configuration of the mHawk engine has also proven itself in the WesBank Fuel Economy Tour, whereby it was rated for a real-world consumption of 7.7 litres / 100 km for the 4×2 model and 7.9 litres /100 km in the 4×4 configuration. This car can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 2 500 kilogram’s, while also being able to take a payload of up to 1 195 kg on the 4×2 model.

SERVICE PLAN

All Mahindra Pik-Up S6 models are sold with a comprehensive 4-year / 120 000 km mechanical warranty and roadside assistance plan and 5-year/ 90 000 km service plan. Service intervals, barring the initial 10 000 km lubrication service, are set at 20 000 km.
