BA ISAGO University will host its 3rd International Research Conference themed “Climate Change and the Built Environment” on October 3-4, 2019 at its Convention Centre. The aim of this conference is to bring together built environment professionals, researchers, policy experts and government officials to focus on the impact of climate change on the built environment. The conference topics will allow delegates to exchange ideas and experiences, increase their knowledge and skills related to climate change policies and actions, urban design, building design, renovation and retrofit issues and the performance of buildings and materials. The Built Environment is crucial for infrastructural development and for ushering in state-of-the-art buildings.

As a developing economy within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, Botswana’s economic development and advancement hinges on capacitating innovations of the Built Environment, enhancement of the construction industry and infrastructural systems that would accommodate population growth, economic development and national sustainability. As one of the Universities offering programmes in the Built Environment, BA ISAGO University will convene the international research conference solely focusing on the Built Environment in order to bring together all stakeholders under one roof to discuss pertinent issues in the field. It is hoped that through this conference, current trends of forging collaborative partnerships with regional and international stakeholders in order to learn from best practices approaches will be achieved. Furthermore, through this conference, it is envisaged that all stakeholders will get a rightful forum to introspect and develop a well-informed future roadmap of infrastructural development in Botswana and the region.
