The highly anticipated annual Masa fashion extravaganza returns on October 26th, 2019 under an exciting theme, “Spotlight on Botswana”. For a third year running, the Masa Fashion Show continues to redefine the local creative and textiles industry for the better through strengthening cross-industry relationships and creating opportunities for growth in the fashion industry.
Masa is set to showcase a one-of-a kind international couture experience which will see thirteen of the country’s seasoned fashion designers, display their proudly Botswana garments, as the Hotel transforms the streets of Gaborone’s Central Business District into a spectacular runway, collaborating for the third year with the incomparable Jan Malan of Umzingeli Productions.
Speaking on the choice of theme, Masa Square Hotel General Manager, Hayden Bowl said; “This year our beloved country has made a number of strides and gained international recognition in the media and society at large. Stories are being shared; both positive and negative, the underlying issue remains that they are told from a foreign lense. Masa recognises that the time is now to tell our narrative as Batswana. Who are we? What do we have to offer? What does it mean to be proudly Motswana today? Hence the theme ‘Spotlight on Botswana’”.
He said Masa Square Hotel believes that there is no time other than the present to share the country’s narrative to the world. The Hotel is proud to bring to fashion enthusiasts and revelers alike in a fashion show by Batswana for Batswana. Designers showcasing this year include;
